Five Things I Taught Myself

Five Things I Taught MyselfIt's been a long time since I've written an article about myself and other people asking me how I managed to succeed in my career and personal life. One thing I can tell you is that it's not about me, it's about everyone else. Here are the five things that have helped me get to where I am today.Positive thoughts: If you're not positive about your own performance and goals then there is no way you can ever expect to achieve greatness. There is no shortcut to success, just keep your head up high and keep focusing on the task at hand. Being negative will not only hinder your success, but it can lead to failure. When thinking positive, it can be very difficult to be negative.Recognize that no one would like to be told that you're not good enough. We all want others to tell us that we are wonderful and amazing, but often times we are not. Our self-confidence needs to be strong if we are going to succeed in the long run. Be very positive and believe in yourself. People look to others to help them achieve success because they feel they can only do it on their own.Accessing resources: This is one of the most important things that I learned from my peers and mentors. Everyone has resources that are available to them. You can borrow but never borrow and take. This doesn't mean that you should sit around being lazy and abusing your opportunities to learn and to grow. In fact, this has allowed me to open my eyes to opportunities that I would never have ever considered before.Read books and articles: There are great teachers out there that are willing to share with others. If you are interested in learning more about yourself and how to manage and grow, you can always find ways to go online and look for some of the available resources. There area lot of great websites, blogs, and articles that are dedicated to helping you learn and grow. They can be found in a variety of places.A great coach: Great coaches are out there and available for you. I do n't have to tell you that learning to manage and grow from a good coach is invaluable. Having a coach or someone who is willing to mentor you gives you the ability to see where you are going wrong and what you need to do in order to reach your goals. Your coach is always there to give you guidance and support.Someone to follow: Most of us need some kind of 'follow-me' message. It's hard to imagine not having someone who will help and support you. Find someone to follow who is successful and use them as a guide and resource. They will be able to help you set some goals and set the direction for you. When you are following someone then you are going to continue to succeed in whatever endeavor you are doing. After reading this article you should be able to see how I grew and developed into a more effective writer. The secret is not to be confused with what others think about you, but to develop a mental map so that you can see where you need to improve. Successful individuals do the sam e thing that they do for themselves. Their success is because they know where they are going and what they need to do to reach their goals.
